Amber Meets Shane

Dear Diary,

I have walls and carpet now! My dream house still isn't finished yet, but.. Hmm...guess I should explain how I got this far.

On my way to check out Pleasantview's downtown area, I walked by one of the parks and this guy caught my attention. He had a serious face complete with these perfect glasses (some men look so sexy when they wear them) but he was dressed to party. His name is Shane GilsCarbo and he says he's been living in this area for most of his life. We shared stories about our childhood (I think he said his brother's name was Goopy - odd huh) and had fun joking and flirting.

Time flew so fast while we were talking. As the sun was setting, I realized that he was using my own moves on me! Obviously he and I had a lot in common and it wasn't long before he was sweeping me off my feet. This wasn't supposed to happen!! I had intended on going out, meeting some random guy with simoleons to spare, and playing the 'damsel in distress' card to get a roof over my head before moving on to the next guy. Shane was making this harder for me...I actually think I'm starting to care about him!

Obviously, the attraction was mutual, because Shane offered to take me to The Hub, his favorite club downtown. We danced for hours, enjoying each others company and flirtatious advances. The night flew by and we both grew tired, but not of each other, so I took him home with me and showed him my "spot under the stars". Maybe the 'damsel in distress' card would work after all.

We spent the wee hours of the morning laying on my bed just cuddling and talking. He told me about his recent ex girlfriend and how they had just broken up that day. She had kicked him out after finding a love letter in the mailbox. He admitted that he didn't like to be tied down to anyone and I agreed with him. It seemed Shane and I had more in common than I first realized. He needed a place to stay, and I had a house that needed to be built. We both craved attention and love from more than one person at a time and the thought of settling down scared us both.

The solution was obvious. Shane moved in and put up 19000 simoleons to help me get my dream house built. It was only enough to finish half of the first floor, but it was more than I expected. We fell in love with each other tonight and made an agreement that even though we would both date other people, we wouldn't do it in front of each other while we lived together. It's one thing to deal with that drama when you're living alone, but another thing when you're living with someone.

I suppose I'll end this here. Shane has to work tomorrow (I'm still not sure what he does) and I need to find a job tomorrow too so we won't have to be roommates forever. Before that, we have some "celebrating" to do! *winks*
